Shri Mukhyaprana Lakshmivenkatesh temple

Shri Mukhyaprana Lakshmivenkatesh temple is located in Molkod, an island village situated on the bank of the river SHARAVATI, around 7 km towards east of Honnavar in the Indian state of Karnataka. Molkod is referred as SHASHASHRANGAPURA in some old texts related to temple. In Sanskrit Shasha means Rabbit and Shranga is the horn. Molkod is imagined to be in the shape horn of Rabbit if it wore one. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu gods Laxmivenkatesha and Mukhyaprana( Hanumaan).
